Software developed by the Institute of Hydrology SAS, Bratislava, Slovakia (http://www.ih.savba.sk)

During the last years different software packages were developed in the Institute of Hydrology SAS. They can be used not only in the field of hydrology, but also in  other related scientific research fields. We would like to present them on this page. If you are interested in some of them, don’t hesitate to contact authors.

  SOLEI 32

SOLEI-32 can calculate potential energy income to the slopes with different orientation  taking into account the shadowing of the surrounding topography. The input for the model is the matrix of square-grid elevation data (Digital Elevation Model) and optionally vegetation, cloudiness and albedo grids in the same matrix shape. Recent version of SOLEI-32 model uses the IDRISI (16 and 32 bit versions) raster and/or SURFER grid format.

Energy income is represented by sum of direct, diffuse and reflected radiation. The radiation components are calculated separately for the plots with general slope.

Model was prepared for the 32-bit operating system like Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP in Visual Fortran programming language. It is available as WINDOWS application and DLL version, too. More detailed information, description and examples you can find here.

TUW-HBV Semi-lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff model

The TUW-HBV model is a semi-lumped conceptual rainfall-runoff model, following the structure of the HBV model (Bergström, 1976 and Lindström et al., 1997). The model runs on a daily time step and consists of a snow routine, a soil moisture routine and a flow routing routine (Merz, Blöschl, 2004).
